Just a little bit of randomness....

Well...today has been a LONG day....so since my mind is all over the place, I assumed it was fitting for my post to be the same way...so here goes...

1.   I woke up this morning with my glasses stuck to my face...I have the worst habit of falling asleep with them on my face.  I have incredibly BAD eyesight and I do not like waking up and not being able to see....sleeping in my glasses sidesteps this problem...too bad my glasses are in horrible shape now because of it....granted they are 12 years old....TIME FOR NEW GLASSES :)

2.  Weird fact about me...I have about a million things that I do in the morning...and on a good morning that includes a shower...I noticed not long ago that before getting in I set my deodorant out on the counter....why??  Because I will completely FORGET to wear it if I don't have it staring me in the face...sad, huh?

3.  We had a great (loud) morning with friends that came out for a playdate....they ran, they played...and then the girls ended up relaxing with Veggie Tales.  I had a wonderful time catching up with a friend....it was much needed!!

4.  So I bought a sweet frame before the twins were born to put in their room.  I was obsessed with all things twins....it was all so cute!  So you would have thought it would be somewhat of a priority to actually put a picture in it....but nope....it took me over 2 years to put one it...but it is so cute...

5.  KK is so cute at bed time...last night we told her to head back to her room and we would be back to read stories and tuck her in...we walked in to find this...
Her Dora doll set up with a pillow and blanket (and stuffed animal to sleep with) and her bear with a pillow, blanket and stuffed animal.  Apparently they were having a sleepover :)

6.  I have the best husband in the world....tonight I had my monthly JH meeting and KK had soccer pictures.  So Kev loaded up all four kiddos and took them to her pictures at a very packed and insane Y.  THEN....he took them to dinner...at Olive Garden (KK's choice).  Just dad and his four kiddos...he said the wait staff was incredible and super helpful.  Of course, while everyone was still eating, KK had to go potty....so Kev unloaded all the kids out of their chairs and the whole group went together :)  He is such an amazing dad....he had the best time!!

7.  Kev will be putting his dad skillz into lots of practice in the next few weeks....as he is now unemployed.  We have been self-employed since we were married (Kev before we were married...total of 10 1/2 years) and now he has decided to sell out and decide what is in store for him next.  We are full of hope and knowing that God's will is leading the way.  We will be placing our house on the market shortly...so lots of channges....lots of changes :)

8.  IT'S FALL....at least in my book....I wore jeans, a button down and a cardigan tonight :)  WHOOOO HOOOOO....I am so excited for Fall season...I am on the hunt for the perfect boot...and a few key pieces to get me through.  I am sure it will consist of cardigans...lots of cardigans :)

9.  I have been thinking tonight at how quickly time flies...I love looking at old photos...usually I will look at them and it will feel like hardly any time has passed...but in reality a year will have gone by...so I came across this tonight...

Our little family a year ago....just 6 weeks away from adding a new addition...can't remember Austin not being here!!

10.  We ended our night in our usual fashion...diapers (well...not KK), jammies and books.  As you can tell they love multi-tasking...listening to a book and fixing mom's hair :)

Good night to all!!!  TOMORROW IS FRIDAY :)

It's a beautiful (real) day....

Well, our house day has a basic schedule...of course it changes if need be...we are pretty flexible...but for the most part we are guilty of being creatures of habit...Most days I am pretty laid back...throw in a load of laundry here...play a few puzzles there...other days I go into survival mode.

A day with four kiddos is challenging...yet rewarding and at the end of the night we all say our prayers together and end it with hugs and kisses.

So I figured I would capture today...a real day in my life and my house...I know sometimes when I read blogs, I truly appreciate the posts that are "this is me...and I am ok with that"...so here goes :)

At our house...

we start the day with a blanket skirt...she got this from me. She was cold...and this keeps her hands free so she can do what she wants and stay warm...I am thinking this is better than the snuggie :) Love the hair...

We eat Cheerios...usually two bowls each...

We smile and giggle at our brothers as they eat their Cheerio's....

We have a messy house...dishes in the sink...barbie drying in the sink...clothes to be hung...bags of clothes that NEED to go to Goodwill...but of course, they all stay where they are because we have things to do...

We become doctors...we wear fairy wings and high heels (even the boys), we have campouts and eat all meals as picnics...we even hang out in our lil' brothers room so he doesn't feel left out....

On occassion, mom needs a shower...so on these days we wait until Austin is in bed napping...and then I head to the shower, with the pitter patter of 6 little feet. I normally shower with the door 1/2 open so I can keep an eye on the three munchkins...today they decided the closet would be fun...and high heels.

Since it was a super hot today, the kids took a bath....for an hour...they loved it! Afterwards...they were READY for naptime...and mom was ready to get some stuff done...

This is just a smidge of the stuff I need to tag for the upcoming JBF (Just Between Friends) sale. Is it me...or do my kids have WAY to much clothing???

After naptime...comes snacktime...which is their favorite time of the day :) We have random snacks...grapes, yogurt, pluots, fruit snacks...but today we had cheeze its...the scrabble kind...which they love to look at the letters, and say "Mommy...what's this??" It is super cute!!

After this...there is much more playtime :)Running, screaming (1/2 for fun, 1/2 because someone hit someone else...)Next thing you know it's dinnertime...Dad was in charge tonight...and it was a hit! Spaghetti night...a first for Austin! Shirts optional...of course :)

A little bit of clean up and a quick change into jammies...love those sweet kiddos!!

Whew.....now that is a packed day....add in approximately 12-15 diaper changes, at least 5-10 tantrums, countless hugs, a few boo boos and lots of sweets words...it is just another day at the Guy household. Messy house and all :) I wouldn't change it for anything...

(Sidenote...I STILL need to tag JBF stuff...I came home to clean dishes courtesy of my husband....I got 1/2 the clothes hung...and well, Barbie is still naked in my bathroom sink)

Good night!!

Favorites - Weekend Edition

Well we had a great weekend...that consisted of a whole lot of nothing :)

So I figured I would just list some favorites from the weekend...

1.) Target in Moore opened...and I have been there TWICE :) They have the best and cleanest buggies...KK and I went together once and we ended up walking away with favorite #2...

2.) Finger Nail polish...as I mentioned in this post, it is my new obsession. We walked away with two new colors...Ivy League and Plum Power.

3.) My 3 year old daughter has a new word...WhatEVER...so far it is during play time talking to her brothers...hopefully, it will not be used toward me...then it will probably NOT be a favorite...until then...you can see her whatever face (as a fairy, of course)

4.) The boys got their first backpacks and they came in at the end of the week. We decided to pack them up and head down to Granny & Papa's this weekend. They are super excited about it! They love wearing them...

5.) Watching the kids wrestle with dad took up a good part of our Saturday afternoon :) I love Kevin's face...it's all fun and games until Daddy gets hurt...

6.) My family started the day at church. It was the last week of our church's series, At the Movies...it was wonderful!! Now I am relaxing with my hubs and we watched Big Brother...love Sunday!!

7.) Last but not least...

Love the weekends!!

A whole lot of everything...

Well, today is a catch up day on random happenings...so forgive me for the rambling :)

First off, I hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday!! I am looking forward to a great weekend, Date night tonight with hubby, baby shower and church tomorrow and a Sunday of fun with our blow up pools!!

Here goes....

This past week my lil' man turned 8 months old...it is so crazy how fast he is growing!! He crawls everywhere, pulls up on furniture, has started eating table food (LOVES to self-feed), he is off the bottle and sleeps like a pro!

The boys have been really breaking in their new toys from their party...and one of their favorites?? Bowling (Thanks Owen!!) They love setting up the pins and Carter actually understands the concept of rolling the ball...Bryce on the other hand gets frustrated, picks up the ball and throws it at the pins to knock them over...or kicks them :) But they get so excited when they fall over...they will scream "YEAH!!!" So cute...

The kids were super excited about MDO this week...they got to go two days in a row since Monday was a holiday...so they were full of creativity (as usual!) and made lots of fun art!! I can't believe how many things I already have of the kids...I always take pictures of them because I am going to turn them into an art book on MyPublisher (eventually!) Here is a sample:

The boys are two now, so of course the first question I hear from most is, "Are you potty-training?"...and my answer, "Heck no..." LOL...honestly we don't know where to start...KK was SO EASY...so two boys seems so overwhelming...Bryce seems interested...Carter has no interest at all...So we decided we would try bribery....

Here is what we have ended up with...one bare bottomed and one fully clothed playing in the bathroom for 1/2 an hour :) Sorry if the pic is TMI...but I have to capture these moments so I am able to show them to their prom dates one day...

Last night we decided to see how I kid's measured up...so we decided to dedicate a wall in the playroom to measure the kids...and I will figure out a way to frame it out and make it cute...however, this was just a spur of the moment happening...we can't believe how big the kids are getting!!

Well, there you go...a whole lot of everything!! Sorry that was all over the place...but that is our family in a nutshell for the week!! We also had the pleasure of having dinner at my brother's house with his family and friends, my friend Shannon coming over yesterday with her sweet son Evan and a couple of fun work days with me with my favorite ladies!!

Have a great weekend and I will talk to you next week!

Let Freedom Ring

Happy 4th of July to everyone!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day with family and more importantly I am thankful to those that have given there lives in the past, present and future that allow my freedom here in the US. I am truly amazed at those that give there time and efforts so selflessly to defend our nation. Thank you...Thank you ...Thank you!

In order to celebrate, we had a two day celebration...On Sunday, we went down to good ol' Moore, Oklahoma and headed to 12th street park where they have booths, sno cones and a HUGE sandbox :)

We had a blast...however, it was 125 degrees outside so we only lasted a little while before we headed back to AC. But the kids had a blast in the sandbox and eating sno cones...and KK of course got her face painted :)

Today we got back in our red, white and blue and celebrated in our hometown of Piedmont. We were a little disappointed at first...because ALOT of rain moved in and it looked as though the parade was going to be cancelled...since the kids were a little down at the idea of the parade not happening we decided ice cream would be a good treat :)

Our little ice cream party got messy...especially with Bryce but they really enjoyed it!

Luckily, we waited around and sure enough, the rain cleared and the sun was back out (and HOT) and we unloaded to get set up for parade time!! The kids were so excited!!

The boys were so excited to see the horses and cars...and Katelyn was pumped because of all the candy!! Although, once Bryce got the hang of the candy idea...he was all about it! Carter was so sweet...he sat next to me most of the time and just smiled and waved...I loved it...a woman in the parade noticed that he was just sitting next to me and came up to him and handed him an entire handful of candy. He was pretty excited!! We came home with alot of loot!!

At the end of the parade, the kids started to wave their flags.

We had a blast! Now the kids are sleeping like logs!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and got to spend it with loved ones!

End of the week recap....

Well it has been a great week! Although the temperatures are increasing by the minute...I am blessed that God has given us a week of healthy children and sunny skies to play in!!

I have had various things going on and have not been so great at updating this thing...so I figured I would just through a random post together...

1. Kevin and I watched Country Strong....definitely not what I expected...afterward Kev said he is in charge of picking movies LOL...I did however download "Give into me" on Itunes...what can I say? Beau was my favorite part :P

2. I have kept the song "Today is the Day" lyrics by Lincoln Brewster (well, the chorus) in my head all week and it has kept me strong and connected to God all week when I had doubts and troubles...love a great song!

3. Kevin's 37th birthday is tomorrow....I can't believe it! In a couple of weeks it will be 7 years since we started dating...July is a good month!

4. I have decided that Katelyn is way more tech savvy than I could have ever been at 3...she can work my I Pad better than me most of the time LOL

5. At the Movies starts at my church this weekend (LifeChurch)...and I am pumped...this is our first experience!! Our church has been transformed...if you are looking for a place to attend this weekend...you should head out! Services Saturday AND Sunday!

6. If I could have a moviethon right now I would watch: The Proposal (actually I am watching that right now), Confessions of a Shopaholic, Definitely, Maybe, Devil Wears Prada, Monster-in-Law and Sixteen Candles...my taste in movies is obviously not Academy Award winning :)

7. We had quite the evening last night...we decided we would venture to the movies to take in Cars 2...man I wish I had a camera phone in times like last night...it was precious! We got each kid a Kiddie Pack with popcorn and fruit snacks...they were so proud of their box! They each held onto it and walked into the movie so excited! Kev sat at the aisle, then Bryce, Katelyn and Carter next to me. I held Austin and he ate puffs. The kiddos were in a popcorn trance and when the movie started they were in awe!! Carter yelled, "Momma...it's CARS!!!" Biggest.Smile.Ever...they lasted for an hour...and probably would have lasted longer but I had gotten up with a fussy lil' Austin who was wanting to crawl and the kids were curious to where we went (actually Bryce lost his mind and screamed and cried...gotta love 2 year olds LOL) we left and let me run around the play area. I still think 4 kids three and under at the movies for an hour is a success story!

8. I took all four kids to the park today....by myself...successfully :) It was a great day...tomorrow we are headed to a Splashpad with friends...it has taken me almost 8 months to feel comfortable to get out with all 4 kids without Kevin...it can be quite overwhelming but with lots of prayer, my confidence is boosted to face it!!

9. Austin pulled up tonight on the couch...I see a cruiser in my near future!!

10. Excited that we don't have any traveling Fourth of July plans...we will be watching fireworks here in Piedmont. Lots of resting and pool time in our blow-up water park :)

I hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys time with family and friends!! As we enjoy our independence, I will think of those who got us where we are today and those that continue to fight for our freedom. God Bless!!

Fun times at the Guy house

Well with 4 kids we are always seem to have a busy house...something always needs to be wiped off, vacuumed, washed, picked up...etc...you get the picture...but if I were to do that all the time I would miss out on the opportunities to just love on my kiddos and play.

So today was one of those days that everything that "needed" to be done got pushed aside and I tended to what truly needed to be done...and that was playtime with the kiddos.

We, of course headed outside to the 115 degree weather :) So, the only way that is enjoyable is if you blow up your very own waterpark....

That's right...3 pools...The kids went bouncing from one pool to the next. We had purchased the large rectangle pool and the boys received the other 2 for their birthday. Perfect gift for these kiddos!!

They had the best time jumping from one pook to another and splashing water. However, the funniest part was when Kevin would take a little bucket from their sandbox toys and fill it with water and throw it on them....it was Carter's favorite thing and he would shout, "Again, Again!" It was cute!

It was such a good time...needless to say the kiddos were worn out...at least Carter and Katelyn...Bryce was still dancing around :)

They all did go to bed super easy tonight :)

On a side note, the kids go to the BEST Mother's Day Out...they always keep the kids busy with such fun crafts...my favorite of the day was Lady Liberty...

How cute is this? Definitely gearing up for the holiday weekend :) Love the hat, love the torch...KK added her Toddler Bible :) So cute!!

By the way...I am pretty sure it is IMPOSSIBLE to get 4 kids to look at the camera all at the same time LOL!!
