It's like riding a bike....

As in...actually riding a bike...

In honor of today's cruddy weather....I will write a post about a much nicer day not so long ago...as in last Friday. The state of Oklahoma cracks me up because it can swing from 70 degrees to 39 degrees in a matter of days...anyway...back to the post.

Meet Katelyn....you've seen her before...

This is her on her Dora bike. She got this magnificent gift on her 3rd birthday...which was about 5 months ago. There have not been too many days she has been able to get on and "ride", but I assure you if the sun is out, we are outside and she wants her bike.

Honestly, she is more intrigued with the miniature backpack on the front with map...(all I can hear in my head is "Where are we going??? clap..clap...clap...any other parents out there seen Dora about 1,000 times???) Anyway....and she LOVES her helmet....she tells me it is so she won't break her head, ha!

For the most part, she poses on the bike...sits on the seat and attempts to ride...but she has yet to actually ride the bike. She sure does try hard though. However, when she can't do something as quickly as she would like, she ends up frustrated and then is ready to move on with another activity.

Her daddy is so good with her though...so patient. He is trying to teach her the basics and how it takes time to learn a new trick. He tells her stories of how he used to ride a bike all the time when he was little. It is so sweet.

I do not have much to share in this department....I will let you in on a secret. I have no idea how to ride a bike...true story. I know the mechanics but I have a horrible center and look so awkward when attempting. I didn't ride a bike as a kid, although my Grandpa bought me a purple one with a horn. I was the indoorsy type...lots of barbies, books and books and books. You can imagine what it looks like when I am trying to help her ride....it is quite dysfunctional.

I love seeing her outside and running and playing. I know these are the days I am going to remember...my little girl giggling and her hair blowing in the wind. These will be the days I rewind in my head when she grows up and gets in her car to drive off to go out with friends...or when she is walking down the aisle or having her first baby. There is nothing like playing outside to bring out the kid in you. I am so glad to have such a sweet little girl and have the opportunity to watch her learn new things.

Hello

Happy Monday...I realize it is the end of the day but it has been such a blur that this is the first time I have had time to sit at the computer for any amount of time...why you ask?? Well...it is Monday, which I have designated as "Laundry Day". I have previously said that I do not like laundry...despise it actually. But with a family of 6, it is a necessary evil. So I stayed in my pj's today...and so did the boys...I mean, why get anything else dirty?? :) So while I took care of loads and loads...and LOADS of this.... The kids took care of their own entertainment. First, the boys thought Austin's toy was WAY more fun if they attempted to wrestle in it than let their little brother play on it... But Bryce made up for it with a little brotherly love...Austin ADORES his older brothers and sister...Bryce actually gives Austin real kisses...for the rest of us he just gives us his forehead... All was going well...and I was working through the laundry...even getting a little help now and then... Oh Carter...my little helper! Well, then all went down for a nap and I had some quiet laundry time to myself...then after their nap...they came into the living room and, as always, were ready for a snack. Carter looked at me and asked, "Cracker?" and since I was in the middle of nursing Austin, I said yes and told him to go grab a package (my kids LOVE peanut butter crackers!) and off he went...but apparently mid-journey he changed his mind. He wanted cereal...but all I heard was a bag hitting the floor...and as I got up I found this... Darn it...and it was my cereal...so I gated them off from the disaster zone so I could clean it up...they were not to happy about this... Mr. Innocent sat back...although I told him...next year, all 3 of them would probably be spilling cereal and creating havoc :) So finally 5pm rolled around...and I continued to wash, dry, fold...repeat...and Katelyn decided her daddy needed a makeover...complete with Spongebob sunglasses. She even wrapped him with a "cape" so he wouldn't get hair on his neck. She is super thoughtful at pretend haircuts. Of course, she had to show him the finished product. After his makeover, Katelyn had to get ready for her Masquerade Ball...and she asked if I could be her fairy godmother...well, of course :) You can never turn down this opportunity! I asked her what she wanted, and she told me she wanted me to "Bippity Bobbity Boo." Easy enough...with a little of this...and a little of that...my fairy princess was ready for the ball. I am sure you are wondering, "Did she actually get any laundry done??". Why yes...I did :) I even got all the hanging clothes hung up...except for those of the boys that were done after they went to bed. However, my dining room table that is hiding under stacks and stacks of clothes will probably remain laundry central for a few more days. I still have 7 loads of laundry left...WHOA! But I will take it....I had a great Monday with 4 crazy kids AND did laundry....not bad :) My accomplishment... Sorry for the picture overload...I didn't realize I took so many pics today during laundry/play day :) Night, Night!

21 months old

Here is how it all started....day one...

My precious boys...I remember being in the hospital and being SCARED out of my mind...two at once??? I didn't even know where to begin....but man, they were (are) so precious...even looking at this picture, it brings tears to my eyes....

Fast forward 21 months...and here we are today...

Little boys...that love to eat, laugh, wrestle, play, read books and frustrate one another....they are best of friends...and at times the worst of friends...they talk to each other every day when going down for a nap and are the last to tell each other good night before they drift off to sleep at night.

They love waking up in the morning and if one is up before the other, you can hear (usually Bryce) saying, oh, so quietley..."Carter!?!"...."CCCCaaaarrrtteeerr!!!" until brother wakes up...then they stand and bounce in their cribs and laugh at one another...

They have such a unique relationship....twins fascinate me. I love hearing stories when we pick them up from MDO about how they play with other kids but they always keep tabs on where each other are...and "check-in" with one another on occassion...as if to say, "Hey brother...I am still here".

As much as they are on their own level with one another in their own "Carter & Bryce" world...they are SUCH individuals...With Katelyn, our first, I would get the weekly e-mails telling me what kids a certain age are doing...and she always seem to be on track or ahead...and I will admit I always felt so good that she was so "normal"....with Carter and Bryce this went out the window...and I changed my idea of normal...they have always been on their OWN schedule.

My little Carter Man....he is our lover...he is full of hugs and kisses and is ready and willing to share. He talks with his eyes...because he is not much of a conventional talker. He is super easy going 90% of the time...he is however very rough when it comes to playing with his brother and sister...he hasn't quite mastered the "pat", his is more like a slap. We are working on this...and time out seems to part of his daily ritual...but I know it will get better. He is quite the little sports star...his favorite toys are balls and he loves to catch, roll and throw. He is still learning how to be graceful on his feet....he just started walking at 15 months old, so it is a process and he is getting much quicker...he has almost caught up to Bryce!

When we go places, he is definitely not the center of attention...he is much more quiet and reserved. He is coming out of his shell though. Last night when we dropped the kids off at Parent's Night Out...he forged ahead of Katelyn and Bryce and walked to his room...he was ready to play! Oh..and I must add in, when he gets excited and starts walking somewhere, his left arm starts swinging like crazy, but his right arm stays still. Cracks me up!

As I said, he is not much of a talker...he still uses some of his sign language and points but we are working on words everyday. He has a handful he uses but when it comes to understanding and listening, he is hands down the best of the two. He loves to help and clean up. He is great at puzzles and blocks. He loves to dance and sing. In a word...he is precious and makes my heart melt. He still adores his daddy more than anyone...

Brycers...aka "Momma's Boy"....totally and completely...I would be lying if I said I didn't love the fact when I walk in the room his world stops and he runs to me....I kinda think it is the best! He is such a guy on the go...he walked before Carter so he is much more graceful on his feet and instead of walking, pretty much runs everywhere. No matter where we are going, he wants to be part of the action. Whether it is church, Mother's Day out, the mall...where ever...he wants to walk in and start playing.

He is my monkey. He climbs, jumps (well, kinda jumps), slides and swings. He has no fear...which has lead to a shiner, lots of bumps and bruises...skinned knees and a few tears...but he is all boy. Well, until it comes to sister's hats and purses...he is a BIG fan of all things dress up :)

So...I never thought anyone could talk more than Katelyn but I am coming to find out that Bryce is going to be tough competition. I imagine the dinner table is going to be quiet the circus as they all get older and we sit down to talk about everyone's day. Bryce is SUPER animated and talks with his hands...just like his momma :) He jabbers all the time....I can just see the wheels in his head turning. He tries to tell stories and reads books...he can't sit still for more than 2 minutes for any toy...he just runs and runs!

They are both just complete joys...I am definitely more laid back this go round...not too mention, I have a 3 year old and a 4 month old that also take up time, so when it comes to play time, it is just that...play! Sometimes I stress myself out because I don't think they know enough songs, nursery rhymes....they can't recite the alphabet yet or count to ten. But they sure do try! And they are having fun learning...I do find myself comparing them to Katelyn...because she knew so much more at their age...as far as numbers, colors, shapes, etc...but then I realize she was my only focus then and having more than one means juggling my time with each of them. My mantra is "Don't feel guilty...don't feel guilty..." I am giving each of them time, love and a faith based foundation. Just like they are trying to learn...so am I.

The boys are becoming more independent each day....and every morning I look forward to seeing their sweet faces. But I am pretty sure I will always see them as my babies. Still can't believe they are 21 months old....

I'm a Amazon Mom....

So being a mom of four kids that are 3 and under, I have spent a pretty penny on diapers and I will be for the next 2 years. I probably have my own landfill somewhere.... Kudos to moms that do cloth diapers. I know it would probably be best, but we have chosen disposable diapers.

At 1pm today I had already gone through 6 diapers...and by the time bedtime hits, I will go through another 8...that is 14 diapers a day....that is about 100 diapers a week...WHOA! That is alot of diapers....

So after years of diaper buying I finally got smart....and I have now become an Amazon Mom. (You can be one too...just follow the link!)

What does this mean you ask??

I now have access to millions of items for my family at my finger tips that will be delivered straight to my door :) Even better...at a discounted price....I have signed up for subscribe and save which means I can set up to have diapers delivered to me when I need them and recieve 30% off! As many diapers as I go through, this is a HUGE savings for my family.

This is what I get delivered on a monthly basis (well, size 2...the size 4 come twice a month!).

I plan on attempting to potty train the twins this summer...I am sure you will hear about our adverntures in potty training on here. But until then...I will be taking advantage of the savings....maybe Austin will practically potty train himself after watching 3 older siblings go potty....A girl can dream right ?? :)

Happy Friday!

The truth...the whole truth...and nothing but the truth

Well, since I am new to this blogging thing...I figured I would throw out some random and true facts about myself. A little, "get to know me better"...maybe I know you and you know these things...maybe you don't...or maybe you fell upon this post and have know idea who I am...but I figured it has been a long week and all I can come up with right now is my basic info...

  1. I am a follower of Christ
  2. My car is NEVER clean...ever...I could blame it on the kids but even before kids I was never one to keep the inside of my car organized. Sometimes it bugs me...but not enough to do something about it on a daily basis.
  3. My least favorite chore in the world is laundry....I don't mind washing or drying them...put hanging and folding and putting them away...YUCK!
  4. I kill all plants...cannot keep them alive....ever
  5. But I love the idea of having the yard landscaped....basically for me really expensive trash :)
  6. I watch ridiculous reality TV...alot...I usually DVR it and catch up during naptimes or after the kids go to bed...it really is a disgusting habit
  7. I LOVE vegetables...always have...my mom always laughed and said when I was little I would be the only kid that would ask for brussel sprouts...my kids have not shared this quality with mom
  8. I am graying...but since my hair is so dark, they look more like silver highlights...ok...maybe there is only a strand here and there but they stick out SO BAD against my dark hair
  9. Motherhood has taught me so much...more than just about kids...but about myself...my limits...where my strengths are and my weaknesses are and I have found the ability to admit these to myself...
  10. Motherhood has also taught me that my body is more than a size or a weight...it has housed 4 babies...it has stretched and ached...and fed 4 amazing kids...I had know idea that I would be able to accomplish such an amazing thing...God willing...He is so good!
  11. I am a horrible saver...financially speaking...we went from a family of 2, to three years later being a family of 6....two incomes to one income....it has been hard and a true learning experience...but we are starting the journey to become debt free

So that is me in a nutshell...there is a lot more of course...like my wonderful husband...my 4 beautiful kiddos...my wonderful family...but I hope as I grow in this blogging world I can get it all down on the pages of the internet.

Have a wonderful evening....I must get to watching American Idol :)

The lost relative....

Well, I realized I have not ever introduced our beloved Sutton on this blog of mine...so here she is...

She came into our family 5 1/2 years ago and has been such a blessing.

But let me backtrack....I have always had small dogs...mini dauchsunds, pugs and yorkies...and I have always been the type of person to LOVE puppies...and then lose interest when they become dogs...and the whole potty training thing I was bad at...I had never realized as a young girl the responsibility of a dog.

So when Kev and I moved into together and he approached me with the idea of a dog...and a BIG dog at that, I was quite apprehensive. So then he started to tell me about the sweetness of Goldendoodles and I began to do my research. From all that I found and read, they were easy going, smart, good with kids and they didn't shed (BONUS!!).

So, as a surprise, my mom and I headed up to Tulsa and we met a man that had Goldendoodles and I met Miss Sutton. She was precious...she looked like a big black cotton ball. We drove back to the city and surprised Kevin with his early wedding present and he couldn't have been happier. Come to find out, neither could I.

She has turned out to be the sweetest and smartest dog I have ever known. She is truly apart of the family. She potty trained quickly...which was SO NICE...and she fits right in. She is such an active dog and it works out that we live on an acre of land and have a small neighborhood where dogs can roam and make friends. We actually have another Sutton dog on our street.

She is an inside dog that cuddles on the couch with us and lets me and the kids use her as a pillow. The kids also use her as a toy...to sit on, try to ride on, kiss, pet...just about anything. Katelyn is a big girl and very responsible when it comes to Sutton. She lets her out in the morning (with our supervision of course) and lets her back in after she goes potty. She loves helping dad fill up Sutton's food and water bowl.

The boys think she is the greatest too...during the day when Sutton plays outside we open up the windows and the front door so they can look out the storm door...and everytime she passes by they both just yell her name and smile and giggle. So sweet!

However, I am pretty sure she has found a favorite though...

Her and Carter have bonded....although Sutton sleeps in our room most of the night...she always goes and checks in on the boys in their room, and I am sure that when the boys move out of their cribs...she will be cuddled up with Carter.

I love our 7th member of our family and I love the idea of my kiddos growing up with a dog. I often take her forgranted...but I am very thankful to have such a great friend that has stayed up with me when Kevin worked late when we first got married, who paced up and down the hall and sat with me on the couch to watch TV when pregnancy insomnia hit me with all three pregnancies, who laid down outside of Katelyn's room when she was a baby and whenever she made a peep would come to our room to let us know (we didn't even need a monitor!) and for a friend that is my "watch" dog that always makes me feel safe.

Tuesday's Tid Bits

Today was a work day for me...so this will be a quick post...this momma is tired :)

  • I woke up this morning at 7:15am....and realized that my lil' man was STILL fast asleep...12 hours folks...put it in the books :)
  • Actually...by the time I left for work at 8am...only one child was awake...my sweet little kids that are learning the art of "sleeping in"
  • I worked 8 1/2 hours today....and it felt great....I love having the opportunity to go to the office and work with numbers and people....
  • I am excited because ALL the kids seem to be un-sick :)
  • Due to the point above, the kiddos can go to MDO this week and Katelyn can go to dance!!! Yay for them....yay for me....it is wonderful!!
  • This evening was beautiful outside and we all headed outdoors for about 45 minutes and the kids burned off some energy!
  • I was lazy and we did sandwiches for dinner...and fruit...we will leave a homecooked meal for later this week :)
  • Friday night my brother's church is hosting a parents night out...and all four kids are going...and I think Kev and I might just go home and take a nap!
  • Katelyn and I sat down tonight and enjoyed a little technology...we watched a Bible lesson on-line through our church...and nothing is sweeter than hearing your child say "God made me for a reason."
  • JBF sale is going GREAT!! I made 597 tags...only was able to prep about 400 items...but I have sold 213 items!! So excited!
  • The boys all went to bed at 7:30p and Katelyn went down at 8:30p and now I am going to turn on The Biggest Loser and Teen Mom and fall asleep on the couch as I wait for the hubs to get home from work!

Have a great evening...and maybe tomorrow, I will have a better post :)

Catch up game

So last week ended up being even crazier than expected...I ended up sick...running fever and then waking up with a super swollen lip due to fever blisters...not attractive...and then with the JBF sale drop off and a book party I had scheduled...well, blogging just did not happen, however amidst it all...the kids had their fun!

So I figured I would just recap in pictures...these kids are what make me smile so much and I love that even when I feel down and out, I have these little people to make me smile!

All this fun has left my house like this :) So this is real life at my house...

Hope everyone has a GREAT Monday!!

Can I get a "Go Pokes!" ?

Well...as an Oklahoma State Alum, I am somewhat of an OSU fan...okay...I am a MAJOR OSU fan. I love my Cowboys...good, bad, winning or losing...I just love the way that watching college sports takes me back to my college experience, which was AMAZING!!

So hands down, my favorite college town is Stillwater. So when I recieved an e-mail on Monday letting me know that OSU v. Harvard tickets were on sale for the first round of the NIT tournament...and for only $10 bucks....I thought to myself, perfect time to take the family to Stillwater :)

However, Tuesday rolled around and unfortunately, Carter decided to have a spike in fever...and my little Austin man had a fever....and Bryce's other ear started to drain...and so when I have three men down...I must make the ultimate sacrifice and hand the tickets over to Kev and send him and KK on their way...without the rest of their team.

You can just see the disappointment in their eyes.....well...maybe I am just imagining that :)

Katelyn was so excited...she wanted to wear her outfit...bring her pom poms...and she must have practiced her "OOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSUUUUUUUUUU.....Cowboys!" and "Go Pokes" at least 100 times before hitting the road.

It was funny...as she practiced her cheers...I asked her if she was going to be a cheerleader when she grew up...and she looked at me and with the most serious look in her eyes...she said, "Mom....I am going to be a doctor..." as though she was insulted...crazy girl!

Well, I got a call when they got to the game and situated and apparently my overzealous cheerleader that left the house ready to bring down the house....crawled in her shell and hugged her dad's leg the whole game...well, that and ate ALOT of popcorn. She told me this morning she had a stomachache because of all the "junk" she ate at the game!

Regardless of her cheering effort...she must have enjoyed her time in Stillwater as much as I used too....because that girl did not roll out of bed until 11am this morning....Definitely not a morning person :)

Well, as a side note I will say, that Oklahoma State came out victorious and will play again on Monday in Washington.

We love our Veggies....

****Edit - finally figured out how to fix video for full screen...that way you can see ALL three kids ;)
Veggie Tales that is....

A day in the life of the Guy family is usually pretty hectic...it is full of smiles, tears, laughs, timeouts, boo boos, frustration, cartoons and lots of playing.

The twins and Katelyn are 19 months apart...and they have already have found a certain entertainment value in annoying one another...so Katelyn will come to me to tattle tale and the boys come to me and point at her and say "sissy" as if to tattle tale on her.

There are days I feel as though, my purpose was to stay home and hang out with these kiddos and nothing seems to phase me....but there are those days that I wonder to myself, "FOUR KIDS...WHOA!" and I feel defeated.

Then I realize...it is never perfect and that is ok...and when the tears start a rolling these days and it seems as there is nothing I can do...I simply say Veggie Tales and all kids forget whatever was bothering them and turn their attention to the show...and my favorite parts of this are 1) This is a great show and helps kiddos understand stories from the Bible and 2) the opening number :)

Happy Tuesday!

Weekend Re-Cap

Hello and happy Monday to all! I hope everyone had a great weekend....I sure did! It was crazy busy but we all survived it without to many tantrums or tears (myself included!).

Friday started with ALOT of errand running to get last minute things for the baby shower on Saturday, so after I was able to pick everything up and dropped off, I headed home to get ready. For what?? Junior High Pom tryouts of course!

Back in the day....about a million years ago, I danced and participated on school pom squads. I loved it...and still do love dancing, so I always get excited during March for judging junior high pom tryouts...it is amazing these young ladies with SO MUCH talent. I have been judging for about 7 or 8 years and the talent just keeps getting better and better...there were 35 girls that tried out this year. You can just see the sparkle in their eye...so sweet! We were fortunate enough to find a great group of 18 girls that I know will have a blast this year cheering on their school and competing.

Woke up Saturday and it was SHOWER DAY! So off to Tiff's house I went to help set up and once I got there, we both put it in overdrive and got everything set up...and it turned out super cute! I would post pictures...but I left my camera at her house...go figure! But we had a great group of friends come and some brought there kiddos, so needless to say there was never a dull moment. Austin got to meet alot of my friends for the first time! Kev brought the three older kids by towards the end of the shower and they got to play and hang out.

As far as the momma-to-be, she got so many cute things! I love baby showers....all the cute loot! Lots of fun little outfits and blankets and baby necessities...she is so good too, because she already has the nursery done and ready for the baby that is due April 11th....however,baby Evan decided to surprise everyone and make his grand appearance last night! He is 4 weeks early, however, him and mom are doing great! I can't wait to go meet him!

Saturday night, I had the opportunity to hang out with some old, high school friends to celebrate a dear friend's 30th! She is so fun too...she always has themed parties and this year was NEON...and let me tell you, people rolled out with some pretty crazy attire...so fun! I didn't stay to late...not feeling 100%...pretty sure the bug has decided to hit me! But it was still nice to have a chance to see everyone!

In the process of going to bed early Saturday...I forgot about daylight savings time...dang that Spring forward!! We woke up late for our normal church service on Sunday...so we went to the one that followed and ended up being lazy for the remainder of the day....

whew!! Woke up this morning with a LONG lists of to-do's for this week...hoping to get it all done!! I hope everyone is having a productive day!!

Happy Monday!

Time for a shower....

No not me...I actually had a shower AND washed my hair today :) This might sound like a "duh" statement, but with 4 kids, a shower and hairwashing is a luxury!

No..no...It is time for a shower for a dear friend...a baby shower....which is my favorite kind! My best friend and I are hosting a shower at her house for a friend that has been so kind to host multiple showers for us in the past. It is so fun that we have the chance to re-pay her for her kindness and hospitality.

Here is the invite...

Isn't it cute??

She is having a baby boy in April and I can't wait to meet him!

It should be a great time and a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon....full of friends and food.

I am off to work on decorations....everyone have a fun Friday and a GREAT weekend!

Our own little pharmacy....

So this is what is keeping my family going right now...the only two people that are NOT sick....me and Austin...So, 3 sick kids AND a sick husband...and only a 4 month old on my side has been a little rough...

We have had thermometer readings of 100.4, 101.1, 102.9 and then a whopping 103.6!!!! My daughter was practically on fire last night...it was awful...and my little guys...well, they are not much better.

Headed to the pediatrician yesterday and we have 2 ear infections (Katelyn and Bryce)....and the one that we didn't think was that sick (as if we know what we are talking about) was actually the worst! Poor Carter...he didn't even have an appointment...but our doctor heard him cough and insisted on listening to his chest...and sure enough he is wheezing and has fluid in his chest. Great mom, huh? I was going to leave him at home with granny....glad I didn't!!!

Both boys got shots....OUCH! Also, doesn't make for a fun exit from the dr.'s office...talk about some stares :)

Then today, my biggest baby boy (Kev) headed to the doctor and he got two shots (or to quote the doctor, "We are going to give you two shots in the ass....if you still don't feel good tomorrow...you come back and see me, alright dude?"....true story).

So, got home from work today to a house full of cranky/clingy kids....but then a few hugs from mom and all was good :)

Boys went to bed great....Katelyn is piled up in mom and dad's bed, special treat for a sick princess :) and on the bright side....Austin found his feet tonight :)

I love being a caregiver, a hugger, a book reader, or in other words a mom...days like today make it all worthwhile.

So until next time...

Just tagging along.....

Sooo....I have been drowning in clothes, toys and tags for the past 48 hours....and STILL not done...

In the next couple of weeks I will be participating in the local Just Between Friends sale to consign the kids gently used clothing...and let me just say...my kids have WAY WAY WAY to many clothes. Well...at least my daughter :)

Alright...wanted to come up for air for a brief second and say Happy Monday...hoping to get back to blogging tomorrow...but I also have 2 sick kids right now that are heading to the doctor tomorrow. So that means 2 things....1)they are both not happy campers and want mommy to hold them ALOT (which is nice because I never get the chance anymore...although I hate that they don't feel well) and 2)I will have another 2 sick kids due to the germ infested house...doesn't matter how much I Lysol....it always gets passed around.

Well...have a fabulous evening!

4 months old

Unbelievable.... 4 months old !?!

Does not seem possible...look at you....

You are so precious...and laid back....

and you have a new friend...the rattle...this is your favorite toy...

Your are quite impressive you are already transfer the rattle from one hand to the next. You like to shake it...and you smile when I shake it. When you hold it, you usually just stare at it with such intent...trying to figure out just what this contraption is...very cute.

Another impressive thing this last month was that you have rolled from belly to back AND back to belly. You are super strong and have great head control. When I sit on the floor with you, I sit you up and you are finding your center. I bet you will be sitting up by yourself in the next month! Whoa! We will see what I report next month!

Another fun thing about turning 4 months old is that you get to try solids. Our pediatrician gives us this handy dandy piece of paper to outline the basics...

Obviously there is lots of info on there...immunization info, things to look for and then the good ol' food chart on how to introduce foods...my pediatrician's opionion of course. You would think after having 4 kids in three years...I would know this by heart...and I would EXCEPT they (as in bunch of doctors) have changed what I have always done...and instead of introducing cereal FIRST...they say to introduce it LAST...apparently this is a new thing to help curb obesity later in life due to number of sugar cells...ok...maybe I don't remember exactly what the pediatrician said but, hey, I am all for trying something new. So here is our lil' guy testing out the greens...

First bite....mmm...you didn't fight it with your tongue...by the way...Katelyn is cracking me up...she was trying to show him how to open his month...such a good big sis LOL

mmmm....green beans

Happy boy...he LOVED the spoon!

We made a mess and were lucky that Bryce was there to clean him up....Bryce is obsessed with wipes and cleaning right now...I am not complaining :)

All in all...a great day to turn 4 months old...

Here are the basic stats:

Height - 24 1/4 inches
Weight - 14 pounds 2 ounces
Sleep - like a champ...usually 8:30 pm until 5a-7a in the morning
Food - nursing still and now solids
Diapers - up to a size 2 now
Clothes - solid 3-6 months...acutally getting a little to small because you are long...growing like a weed!

and just for fun...

Miss Katelyn at 4 months old

Carter and Bryce at 4 months old

Austin at 4 months...in his sister's bumbo (on a whim when I was pregnant...I just knew it was going to be a girl (we didn't find out) so I sold the boy colored bumbos...so therefore, Austin gets to use purple)

So fun! Good Night!
